DreamHack Announces Two Fortnite Tournaments with $250K Prize Pools

Event organizer DreamHack announced that DreamHack Winter and DreamHack Anaheim will each be hosting Fortnite tournaments.

Both Fortnite tournaments will boast a $250,000 USD prize pool, with guaranteed participation for anyone that has purchased a BYOC tournament ticket.

DreamHack Winter will take place from November 29, 2019, to December 1, 2019, in Jönköping, Sweden, and DreamHack Anaheim will run from February 21, 2020, to February 23, 2020.

“We are extremely happy to be able to bring this huge tournament to our festivals,” said Marcus Lindmark, Co-CEO of DreamHack. “It gives the core of the DreamHack festivals, the visitors, a chance to play for big money.”

He added that with the support of Epic Games, “we’re now writing DreamHack history by setting up the biggest community tournaments to date” and is the perfect way to celebrate 25 years in business.

DreamHack Winter is going to be the biggest Fortnite tournament ever held in the Nordics. DreamHack Anaheim’s competition will also claim the spot as the largest community tournament ever held at a DreamHack event in the US. The match will be played using Fortnite’s solo mode. Additional ways to participate in the competition are also set to be announced soon.
